Q. What is the total cost?

A. There are no upfront costs. We incur all expenses to bring your project to life. Your primary investment should be to hire an editor before submitting your manuscript to any publisher. It’s an industry best practice.

 

Q. What services will you provide?

A. We complete all the logistical work for your project such as final edits, formatting, ISBN and copyright. We also work with authors to complete marketing plans and develop a launch team for a successful debut of the published work. Throughout the contract life, support and guidance is provided.

 

Q. What will my royalty rate be, and how often or when will I get paid? Will I get book sales reports?

A. We offer competitive royalty rates above industry standard. Royalties are paid on a quarterly basis and included with the sales report.

 

Q. Who will promote my book?

A. We provide standard promotion for all our authors which includes features on our website, across all social media and inclusion in our newsletter. Ultimately promotion is the responsibility of the author via websites, social media, appearances, etc. Readers want to hear from and see you.

 

Q.  Do I retain all the rights to my book?

A. Yes after the contract period has ended all rights and art work revert back to the author.

 

Q.  Am I able to terminate our publishing agreement?

A. Yes, if at anytime,  you become dissatisfied with UrbanEdge, you are able to terminate in writing within a specified time frame if an agreement can’t be met.

 

Q. How long does the process take after signing the contract?

A. The process can take upwards of 6 months to a year based on the condition of the manuscript, final cover art, and other factors. With a manuscript that has been well-edited and an author doing the necessary front end work in a timely fashion, the process can take more like 3 months which includes ample time for promo and presales.

 

Q. Will UrbanEdge edit my book?

A. It is an industry best practice to submit manuscripts that have been professionally edited. We will review, proof, and provide additional editorial support.
